Salem Bicycle Club goes to the Movies

On August 23rd Salem Bicycle Club came out and supported Salem Bike Vision as they welcomed filmmaker Mark Allan Hoffman to Salem. Mark is the director of the new movie A Simple Machine. The film is based on a book by a Portland Author and filmed entirely in Portland. It's about the power of a simple Machine (a bicycle) in helping a young man bring order to his life . Salem Bike Visiona led a really informative and well organized advance ride in the area, showing off some of the "good, could be good, and will be good bike infrastructure" in Salem before the film's Salem premiere to a Sold Out showing at Salem Cinema. Northwest Hub kindly let participants keep their bikes in the store during the showing and Salem Bicycle Club provided free popcorn to the first 50 attendees of the film. The author and director stayed on at the end and answered some really interesting audience questions. It's an excellent film, probably not easy to find yet, but hopefully more of us will be able to enjoy it in the future. Thanks to Salem Bike Vision for supporting such a rewarding and fun bike event. Keep your eye out for their next bike and movie event starting at Bike Peddler on Sunday October 4th. https://www.salembikevision.org/events
