What is your favorite club ride?
I've been on almost all the club rides, many times. It’s difficult to discern a favorite! I enjoy the rides that leave from Independence Park - either riding to Helmick Park, or riding across the Buena Vista ferry. I also enjoy gravel riding around Basket Slough.
What is your favorite out-of-town ride?
The Oregon Scenic Bikeways rides in Central Oregon are my favorite - Sherer Falls, Madras Mountain and Crooked River. San Juan Islands are a close second (if I ignore having to drive through the horrific Seattle traffic!).
Do you prefer going uphill or downhill?
Probably downhill. The more I ride, the more select I am when choosing a ride. I tend to avoid rides that involve too much climbing.
What's the best part about being in the club?
I ride for social reasons. Distance, speed, etc and where i am on the Club’s mileage chart holds little interest. I enjoy riding with my fellow peeps, stopping for coffee, looking at the scenery, etc. I’ve made some good friends.
Why do you love riding your bike?
It’s fun and keeps me in shape! I also like that I can out ride many younger people!!
